Physical Manifestations

These physical manifestations can be disruptive during sexual activity, leading to difficulties in achieving or maintaining an erection (in men) or experiencing pain during intercourse (in women). Sexual arousal in general may be difficult due to heightened stress levels.

These types of thoughts can infiltrate the bedroom, leading to decreased self-esteem and heightened self-consciousness. Substance abuse, gambling, and excessive pornography consumption are often used to alleviate anxiety-related sexual problems. These strategies may provide temporary relief, they can further exacerbate the issue, leading to both addiction and strained relationships.
